I wanted a nice, lightweight down comforter for the summer time. After doing a lot of research and reading a LOT of reviews I decided to go with this one. At first I was hesitant because I was looking for "real" down and not a "down alternative," but the reviewers swayed me to go with this one and I'm glad I did!Size: I have a California King but went with the King size based on another review. It fits PERFECTLY. I think the CA King would have hung to the floor.Quality: The box pattern of the sewing keeps the filling distributed evenly. The "microfiber" material is smooth and soft - you could probably get away with no duvet cover if you were going with a bright white motif. There are also small loops at all 4 corners to attach to a duvet cover. No funny smell out of the packaging - was able to use it the day we received it. And even though this is made with "down alternative," it's just as fluffy and comfortable as a regular down comforter.Weight: PERFECT weight for summer. I get hot when I sleep and I don't like too much blanket weight in the summer -- I want just enough to feel cozy and tucked in. This is the perfect comforter for that. My husband sleeps a little cooler than I do, but he said this was still warm enough even though the weight was much less than our winter down comforter.Duvet: I bought the Royal Hotel's Striped White 300-Thread-Count 3pc King Duvet-Cover set to go with this (also from Amazon). The duvet set was also light weight, and even though it's only 300 thread count it still looks like a high quality duvet cover. I think the damask stripes help a little.I would definitely recommend this item for anyone looking for a lighter down comforter for the summer months.
